...Awash in red and gold, the interior's simple lines and streamlined look whisper decadence. A velvet couch slinks along a bamboo-covered wall, and a luminous red bar, Asian accents and hushed lighting contribute to Rohan's quietly sophisticated atmosphere. So what is soju? Think vodka without the bite. Distilled from rice, barley and sweet potato, soju has a light, crisp taste. Served straight up or in one of the bar's tasty concoctions, it packs a punch but goes down smoothly. The menu features a generous array of Pan-Asian
tapas, perfectly prepared and artfully presented. Expect traditional Korean dishes, like a variety of kim chees (pickled vegetables)
& Galbi, alongside more eclectic finds like scallion pancakes with hoison dipping sauce. Menu choices are served up at more-than-reasonable prices - cocktails average
six bucks, and plates range from $3 - $15.

...RoHan lounge, the hip "small plates" bar with good food and the korean liqour soju. Chef Jen Solomon (formerly of AsiaSF) knocks out a wonderful array of small plates, priced low enough that $10 to $15 dollars will fill you up. Start with the house-made kim chee - cool, lucious slabs of mildly fiery pickled cabbage... RoHan's (ahi) tartare is one of the best I've tried. Silky minced albacore tossed with bell peppers, tomato, and a hint of red chili sauce is served with rice puff crackers tinged green with an insinuation of wasabi

...dishes are perfect, like a simple salad of greens tossed with walnuts, slices of Asian pears and crumbles of mild Gorgonzola ($4.50), and shrimp- filled dumplings ($5.75) with a delicious soy sauce-chile paste dipping sauce. Service is friendly...It's a good place to stop in for drinks, snacks and long conversations with friends.

Chef Isaac Mancilla's menu is replete with Asian comfort-food items, from a creamy rendition of tuna poke with pale green wasabi crackers ($7) to fabulous, smoky-sweet Korean short ribs of beef ($7.50) distinctly perfumed with ginger. Such a procession of courses feels bountiful without causing one's... wallet to split.
